During period 1, I was lucky enough to visit a science, technology and Spanish lesson.
In Mr Campbell’s science lesson, students were chosen at random to answer questions. This ensured that they all had to be ready to answer. When answering, Mr Campbell then used further questions to ensure students were able to develop and extend their answers.
Mr Campbell’s year 7 books also showed a range of written feedback strategies including self-assessment and peer assessment. I particularly liked this skills self-assessment sheet which enables students to see their strengths and areas for improvement.
